So often job search can be about who you know. Networking is a must in an effective job search. You want to make connections with people who may know of job openings or may hear of them. Network through job networking groups, alumni groups of your high school, college, grad school, friends from activities such as running clubs, gyms, etc. Have coffee with ones you feel could be good connections, tell them what you are looking for and a little bit about your experience and give them your resume. Ask them to let you know of any openings they hear of that might be a fit for you. Send a thank you note or email! Just widen your net and connect with more people which increases your reach regarding potential opportunities.
